We are currently looking for an Application Development Manager

 

Job Description:
Manage an Application Development team of 8-10 staff members. Manage the planning and functional activities through team to fulfill division and company business requirements.
• Contribute in the development of IT strategies, plans, staff development and operations. Communicate department and team plans and assigned activities to staff. Promote cross team collaboration among IT teams, departments within the Division and other divisions within the Company.
• Contribute to developing and maintaining a work environment that is conducive to the motivation and retention of qualified employees who work effectively as a team within the Division and with other departments of Pacific Life in achieving goals and objectives.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant division and corporate initiatives through applicable IT service, support and development activities: Sarbanes-Oxley, business continuity planning, disaster recovery, information security, audit, and compliance policies.

Qualifications:
• 10+ years of progressive experience in IT services and/or application development. Experience with C# and/or Visual Basic programming in .NET and database knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server and/or Oracle.
• At least 2 years of leadership and managerial experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, team building, resource management, and problem solving skills.
• Experience in planning, organizing, coordinating, and managing resources and activities in an IT functional area.
• Experience in the growth and development of staff members technical, professional and general industry skills and practices.
• Experience in establishing policies and procedures, obtaining resources, removing obstacles to function efficiently and effectively, and developing process improvements.
• Extensive experience applying company HR policies, designing jobs, conducting job interviews, hiring and salary administration.
• Experience establishing clear goals and expectations, coaching, providing feedback, conducting performance reviews and performance management.
• Experience in the financial services sector a plus..
